AI Governance & Data Security Statement

Albers Professional Services, LLC DBA Albers Accreditation
Effective Date: May 16, 2026

1. Purpose

Albers Professional Services, LLC DBA Albers Accreditation works exclusively with public safety and law enforcement organizations. The agencies we serve operate in high-stakes environments with strict data handling obligations, and our internal practices reflect that reality. This Statement describes how we govern the use of AI and automated tools in our consulting operations.

2. Human Judgment Drives Every Engagement

Every deliverable we produce — including policy analyses, mock assessments, gap reviews, and strategic recommendations — reflects the professional judgment of our consulting personnel. AI-assisted tools serve a supporting role: formatting, proofreading, research assistance, and structural organization. They do not generate our conclusions or replace our analysis.

No deliverable, recommendation, or compliance observation is issued without human review and professional judgment applied at the final stage.

3. Data Handling and Information Security

We understand what Criminal Justice Information (CJI) is and how it must be handled. Our operational workflows are designed to prevent the following categories of information from being submitted to public or consumer-grade AI systems:

Criminal Justice Information (CJI) & CJIS-Regulated Data

Not submitted to any public or consumer-grade AI tool. Handled in compliance with applicable CJIS policies.

Unredacted Personally Identifiable Information

PII is not submitted to AI tools. Where review of materials containing PII is necessary, data is handled through secured, controlled workflows.

Confidential Investigative Materials

Case files, investigative materials, and related sensitive records are not submitted to AI tools under any circumstances.

When we use cloud-based AI tools, we limit their use to enterprise environments that — at the time of use — are configured under provider terms restricting the use of customer inputs for model training. We do not guarantee a vendor's independent compliance with its own contractual commitments. Agencies with heightened data handling requirements are encouraged to address specific AI tool restrictions directly in their service agreement with us.

For certain analytical workflows, we use locally hosted AI inference environments on secured, encrypted systems. This applies primarily to operational contexts where additional data handling controls are warranted.

4. Transparency and Client Preferences

We will tell you what tools we use and how. If your agency requires that AI-assisted tools be excluded from a specific engagement, we will work to accommodate that request and can formalize the restriction in your service agreement.
